Darryl Serafin had a vision to open a business that would provide the highest level of service for the spray industry in the Griffith and surrounding areas. By the time the doors were opened to the business in April 1996 Darryl had over ten years experience with spray equipment and farm machinery.
What started out as a small business venture quickly evolved into one of the largest suppliers of agricultural equipment in the Griffith area. Due to Griffith's diverse agricultural enterprises the business was able to find a niche market in what is considered to be one of the largest food producing regions in Australia. The business quickly outgrew the original premises in Jondaryan Avenue, and after a few years relocated to a newly constructed site at 1 Favell Street Griffith.
Darryl and his wife Lorraine's dedication and tireless efforts finally paid off, when in 1999 Serafin Spray Centre was crowned the winner of the Resources Credit Union Outstanding Business Awards in the category of Agricultural and Irrigation Supplies. Being finalist for the previous few years the award was a major achievement for such a young business and a proud time for both Darryl and Lorraine.
Although the focus initially concentrated on spray equipment sales and service, the business quickly evolved into a total farm equipment and machinery supply company. The company was able to develop a sound reputation for sales and service and has been able to develop stable relationships with some of the main agricultural supply companies in the country.
Due to the diversity of the region many tough decisions have been made to ensure that the business has the right balance of products for sale at peak times throughout the year. The company now services not only the horticulture and viticulture industries but is also able to provide equipment for the broadacre farmer as well as the rice, cotton and row cropping industries.
Following the continued expansion of Serafin's product range, in 2006 Serafin Spray Centre changed it's name to Serafin Landpower.

Together with the twenty current employees, Darryl's goal is to continue to develop long lasting relationships that will allow the company to continue to grow and prosper in years to come. |
